Strong partnerships between Southern Illinois University and our P–12 school communities are essential to preparing highly qualified educators. The Teacher Education Program values the time, expertise, and commitment of the professionals who mentor, supervise, and support teacher candidates throughout their clinical experiences.

The Teacher Education Program recognizes the valuable contributions of our school partners and cooperating teachers. The Benefits section highlights the professional and institutional benefits available to participating educators and schools, including opportunities for professional development, university partnerships, and other program incentives.

The Clinical Supervisors section includes guidance on observation and evaluation procedures, required documentation, important timelines, and resources to support effective supervision. Clinical Supervisors will also find information and forms for submitting the Travel Expense Voucher for reimbursement of approved travel associated with supervision responsibilities.

Program Coordinators and Faculty oversee the individual teacher preparation programs assisting with monitoring candidate progress and ensuring that licensure requirements and accreditation standards are met.
