Purpose of This Portal

This webpage is your centralized hub for all administrative and instructional tools needed throughout the semester. Here, you can quickly access:

  • Resources: Digital submission forms, observation rubrics, and pilot templates.
  • Logistics & Travel: Mileage reimbursement forms, site visit logs, and key reporting deadlines.
  • Candidate Support: While most clinical placements progress smoothly, candidates occasionally experience difficulty meeting expectations regarding instructional planning, classroom management, or professional dispositions. When performance concerns arise, early intervention is essential to provide candidates with structured coaching and a clear pathway toward success.
    • Early Identification & Informal Intervention
      • Document Specific Evidence: Ground all coaching feedback in clear evidence aligned with observation rubric indicators.
      • Establish Action Steps: Work with the Cooperating Teacher (CT) and candidate to identify 1–2 actionable goals for the upcoming week.
      • Monitor Close-Range Progress: Revisit these goals during your next site visit or through brief mid-week check-ins.
      • Offer Support: Direct students to take advantage of university and SOE supports.
    • Disposition Concern Form
      • If an area of concern persists after initial feedback, or if a candidate demonstrates noticeable gaps in performance or professionalism, complete a Disposition Concern Form to initiate the Disposition process.
    • Immediate Escalation & Emergency Policy
      • Serious breaches of ethics, safety violations, unexcused absences, or unprofessional conduct that jeopardizes the well-being of K–12 students warrant immediate university intervention. In these rare instances, bypass the tiered steps and contact the Director of the Teacher Education Program immediately.
